Youth Entrepreneurship in Furniture up-cycling for Employment within Circular Economy 

                           Improving performance in waste management will speed up the transition to a circular economy and contribute to the objectives of the circular economy action plan for a cleaner and more competitive Europe to double the EU circular material use rate, significantly reduce total waste generation and halve the amount of residual municipal waste by 2030. By implementing this project, the partners want to contribute in making furniture more circular through the creative re-use (also known as up=cycling) of bulky waste for entrepreneurship within circular economy.

                              The biggest motivation for all organizations in this partnership is to enhance young people capacities in applying the circular business model to have a just transition in the labor market. Within this project we are going to give young educators and youth learners the tools to understand what CE is, how to recover furniture waste and transform it into up-cycled furniture for profit, inclusion and better environmental performance from improved waste management. Considering there are not in place a lot of information about the bulky waste treatment, the partners are motivated to research existing practices in each of the partner countries and identify the stakeholders working on such sector and secondly understand the level of skills and knowledge required for such transformation. The project will bring innovative learning material which is definitely needed for Youth education and opening new career pathways in the labor market of all engaged partner countries.
