                  CETEM was created due to an initiative of the private companies in the Wood and Furniture Sector in Murcia, and established in 1995 with the initial support of the Government from the Region of Murcia, the Spanish Ministry of Industry and the European Union. It was awarded Best Technology Center of the Year in the 21st Century National Technology Awards. CETEM is formed by 43 professionals with different backgrounds: engineering, technology transfer, business, administration, chemistry, psychology, teaching, design, etc. The scope of their experience actively contributes towards the socio-economic development of companies by providing support and promoting the transfer of technology, innovation and competitive intelligence practices. CETEM research departments are: Industrial Processes Technology, Product Engineering, Materials Science, Electronics and Home Automation, Robotics, Training and Technological Surveillance.
